Rick Riordan’s book, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is a good start to an epic journey surrounding Greek demigod Percy Jackson and his friends. They must embark on an epic journey to return the master lightning bolt to Zeus on Mount Olympus, clear the name of Percy the “lightning thief”, and stop a war between the Olympic Gods.
Percy Jackson and the lightning thief is action-packed, and combines suspense with adventure to create a thrilling story that hooks its reader. On the Odyssey rating scale I would give this book five phoenix feathers out of five, and can see myself continuing to read the Percy Jackson series.
